This Schaukelstuhl can also be used as a bergère chair, armchair, chaise longue, club chair, corner chair, daybed, living room set, lounge chair, loveseat, side chair, slipper chair, swivel chair. Great for a baby’s room too.
The bentwood rocking chair’s structure is of solid steam bentwood, made by steaming pieces of beech wood in saturated steam until the wood bends so it can be formed. Aspects of both machine and hand work are used to achieve this unique process.
Czech designer Jindrich Halabala who was a very young boy about the time this chair was made at the turn of the century, took inspiration from this design by Gustav Siegel.
Seat ht varies (depending on the tilt) from 19-20 ” ht.
