Contemporary Design
Canadian designer Patty Johnson teamed up with the Botswana-based studio of Peter Mabeo to create a contemporary version of the icon of the Arts and Crafts movement, the Windsor Chair. Made by local artisans in Mabeos studio, the Maun Windsor features a classic form expressed in beautiful, sustainable wood. Johnson has built an international reputation by exploring globalization and sustainability in her award-winning practice. In 2007, she teamed up with the Botswana furniture maker Mabeo to embark on a new model of ecological and humane craft and design collaboration.
