Adjustable Brunch Table by Vincenzo Castellana for DESINE

In life it is always better to have a plan A and a plan B. A table is used to write a letter, place a vase, show off a good book, put a bowl of candy on, support a tired child, set a lazy dinner down in front of the TV, tick the shopping list, and recharge your phone. What if it’s not enough? Brunch table, thanks to the knurled rack, allows the attachment of a second cantilevered top, higher or lower than the table. In this way, the support capacity is expanded and it becomes a multipurpose piece of furniture. Brunch allows many variations: coffee table, table, bedside table or console.
Vincenzo Castellana is art director and designer of the Desine collection. Born in Milan in 1970, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Palermo where he collaborated on courses in scenography and architectural design. In 1998, he was selected by ‘Designing Craft Europe’ with the object ‘Bidi-Tridi’ and in 2005 he founded the ‘Community of good product designOrientity’ and ‘Lp permanent laboratory’, nominated by the ADI Design Index 2007 in the category Research and training in design. In December 2008, with Vanni Pasca, he founded the Sicilian delegation of the ADI, covering the role of president until 2015. 2012 he is professor of Strategic Design and Interior Architecture, in the degree course of Industrial Design and Visual Communication, at the design school of the academy Abadir in Catania.
